WINNER - best british pattern design 2011

i have just heard the news from st.judes that emily sutton's design "curiosity shop" has won the 'best british pattern design' category in the british design awards 2011 (in association with Elle decoration and the daily telegraph). to be totally honest with you i was very suprised by the nominations in this category but see what you think about the other nominees online here. for more on emily's fabrics visit st.judes and look out for the winners of other categories in the december issue of elle deco magazine.

I think they nominated designs that had a historical context. It is a narrow market but does exist.

ah yes - now it makes sense. i must have missed the brief there.
so in theory we could say this is the best british pattern of 2011 with a historical context : )

I preferred the 'Noun Collective' prints by Woop Studio's... which is what i voted for, but I do really like this print and it would have been my second choice.
