today is all about the beautiful designs of carolyn gavin. as well as designing for her family business ecojot carolyn also works as a freelance designer for lots of great clients through her agent lilla rogers. if like me you love carolyn's work then you will want to follow her brilliant blog 'designer jots'. its a fascinating read to see how her work has been applied to various products and carolyn loves to ask our opinion on colour schemes as she tries out different designs.

CARDS - peeping tom / paper
jess greenfield is based in melbourne, australia and recently her love of stationery inspired her to start designing a line of greeting cards called peeping tom / paper. jess graduated in 2008 with a BA in design from queensland college of art and says "peeping tom paper was born to satisfy + combine my love of all things pattern, paper + colour". jess has lots of stockists in australia and for those of us overseas there is also a peeping tom etsy shop here. see more here at peeping tom / paper.
STATIONERY/PRINTS - petit collage
i recieved a newsletter from petit collage yesterday about a new range of prints on wood, and that reminded me about this beautiful postcard by lorena siminovich (of petit collage) that was sent to me by the lovely juanita at galison a while back. you can see the lovely retro tulip range here or check out those wood prints at petit collage here.
TEXTILES - mari robeson
mari robeson has just launched her first textile and home collection. mari's designs are printed on organic twill in the usa, and also include some personalised designs. see here for more.
CARD DESIGN - website
cards ink is a crowd sourced greeting card design site. here's how the site works:
1 designers submit artwork
2 the artwork gets voted on by the community
3 the most popular artwork gets printed onto cards and made for sale, and the designer gets paid $100.
the site is just getting started. they only begun accepting designs on aug 18th and will be officially offering cards for sale starting sept 8th. cards ink founder dan dyer says because their "community at the moment is small, designers that submit artwork now are likely to get the votes needed to have their artwork printed, and to get paid!".
