DESIGNER - ali benyon

Ali Benyon is a surface pattern designer who is originally from Manchester in the UK, but now lives in Melbourne, Australia. Ali studied Textile Design at Loughborough University, graduating with a Multi Media textiles Degree, and more recently took part in Rachael Taylors surface pattern design course and Ali now feels her work has grown considerably in a very short space of time. Using bold shapes and unique mark making techniques Ali loves to create designs that are bold, yet delicate. Busy, yet fresh and simplistic. She does this by mixing quirky textures – using the sewing machine, with clean, simply drawn lines and creating designs with texture and  layers, building up a visual story to her work as she goes.
