NEW COLOURING APP - lake

Lake is an iOS coloring app offering coloring book collections by an ever-growing community of Instagram popular illustrators. It's a great way to relax with your phone or iPad if you enjoy colouring. Also, it's an innovative platform for supporting artists. Launched just two weeks ago Lake has created 11 coloring books by 11 different artists. Each coloring book comes with 12 unique illustrations. Artists have their own profiles within the app, where you learn a little about them and can quickly jump to their Instagram account. You can get a taste of all styles, since there is a free coloring page in each book. The platform offers a wide variety of motives: from calming mandalas, chirping birds, cute florals, quirky beings, to whimsical patterns, beautiful European cities, friendly animals, etc. Find out how to get Lake online here.

Artists popular on Instagram are joining Lake for two reasons . On the one hand, it is a unique way of sharing art with their fans, and on the other hand it provides them with an ongoing stream of revenue, which gives them more freedom to be creative. A significant part of every purchase made on Lake goes directly to artists. By buying a single coloring book you support a certain artist. By subscribing to Lake Premium you support all featured artists and gain access to every artist, all coloring books and color palettes. Here are the artists on board so far.......

And this week Lake is the Editors Choice in Apple's App Store!

After some technical hitches today on P&P is all about new work. Starting with lovely new designs from Shannon McNab. Shannon is a graphic designer turned surface designer living in San Francisco, CA. As a lifelong scrapbooker and crafter, her fondness for anything handmade heavily influences her whimsical design aesthetic. Shannon welcomes new inquiries for licensing and commissions and is excited to be making her trade show debut at Surtex this year. You can see more of her work online here.

NEW WORK - louise cunningham

Our second designer to share new work is Louise Cunningham who has created some marvelous conversational print co-ordinates, like this cute rabbit design (below). Louise has been working as a freelancer for 12 years, creating images for the greeting card industry, editorial, packaging, and most recently repeat patterns. Repeat patterns are something Louise has developed more of a passion for recently. And good news Louise now represented by Cinnamon Joe Studio.

NEW WORK - katherine lenius

Katherine Lenius is an illustrator and surface pattern designer from Minneapolis. She’s often inspired by what’s in her own backyard: nature, gardens, everyday objects, vintage textiles, children’s picture books, and her own children. Her work is a combination of traditional media (pencil, ink, & watercolor) and digital. She especially enjoys designing for fabric, stationery, wall art, and home decor. She’s available for commissions and welcomes opportunities to license her artwork. Her Etsy shop, which opened in 2014, has art prints, tea towels, stationery, and calendars available for purchase.
