Rhiannon Connelly will be exhibiting at Surtex for the first time with the Cultivate Art Collective in booth 222. Rhiannon is a Scottish designer based on the coast just outside Edinburgh. Though returning to design after quite some years her inspirations remain rooted in florals with a dash of geometrics. Find out more about her work online here.
And finally today don't miss designer Natalie Singh who will be represented by Painted Planet Licensing in Booth 322 at Surtex - the top show for surface design which opens in New York on Sunday.
I have a lot more fab Surtex flyers to post up this week as the show draws nearer and nearer. The first set of striking new designs are by surface designer and painter Kelly Ventura who will be in booth 458. Kelly has worked with a variety of clients in the home, gift and children's industries including West Elm and Crate & Barrel.
Les Francaises represents the coming together of two French designers: Mathilde Wydauw and Laurie Brochard who have teamed up for Surtex this month. Gabriella Buckingham has Gabriella has over twenty years experience as a painter and illustrator and after breaking out into the world of Surface pattern she will be showing at Surtex for the first time this year with Cultivate Art Collective in booth 222. Gabriella will be showcasing a wide variety of work available for licensing including lush vintage inspired florals and character filled patterns. Yun Jeong Bae from Greenmarrow Studio is returning to Surtex 2015 with new designs and visitors can check them out at booth 354,
Amy Schimler-Safford will be a Surtex NY next month with the Group Four Design Studio in booth 623. Amy is a designer and illustrator specialising in children's books, children's and women's apparel, stationery and gifts, textiles, and wall decor. Her previous clients have included Baby Gap, Land of Nod, Papyrus and Target.
The Dot Dash Design Studio will be making its debut at Surtex this year and will be showcasing more than 30 brand new surface pattern collections. Dot Dash Design is an established studio based in the UK who have traditionally worked with brand owners on some of the biggest licensed properties (e.g. Thomas the Tank Engine, Sonic and Peppa Pig) This year marks the launch of their ‘Studio Collection’, an eclectic mix of print and pattern for children, home, gifting and stationery. Included is a real mix of art styles ranging from watercolour florals, naïve sketchy doodles to bold graphic characters. The Studio Collection is available for both purchase and licensing, and the team also work on bespoke tailor made commissions.
Susanne Kasielke is a German artist, illustrator and surface pattern designer based in the Washington DC area. Susanne creates vintage inspired digital collages that combine multiple mediums and techniques (from abstract mixed-media paintings to realistic pencil drawings). Besides licensing her work, she is also a mixed-media artist, and has her own line of DC souvenir products including paper goods, textiles, home & wall decor).
