hmm, no i feel that the 'vintage country' look can belong to anyone, cath kidston (whose work i love and collect) didnt invent this look or its colour schemes, she just made it fashionable again. i like greengate because to me they did seem like denmarks version of cath kidston and i love this look, and i think theres room in the market for everyone. NONE of it is 'original' as it harks back to days gone by.
I agree with you, bowiestyle, that design is no longer "original". Inspirations from elsewhere makes its way into designs and are carried around by other people. To each his own, and may the nest man win!
I agree that Cath Kidson isn't necessaraly original however it is what is trademark to that brand. Why if your going to start a new collection do something thats already out there? There is a huge difference between inspiration and completely copying.
I love that striped pitcher. My favorite thing from your top drawer posts....so far. :)
ReplyDeletelove the floral pitcher!!!!
ReplyDeleteand lately i've been seeing a lot of red and light blue. love that color combo!
Isn't it way too close to Cath Kidson? Colours, patterns, shape? It's not original at all!
