Best timing ever! i am going to visit Paris in september for the first time and can't wait to check out some of the lovely places you have blogged about whilst I'm there!
hi zoe, i booked the whole trip through 'the eurostar' and went for a fairly low budget hotel, but it was clean, stylish, and full of character. it was called the hotel st severin which was just across the bridge from notre dame. it was a great location and it was near a hop on hop off bus stop. a three day pass saved me a lot of legwork and unlike the metro, you travel by open top bus which means you see all the sights along the way. the same ticket is also valid on the batobus which means you can use the river to get about. our boat stop 'notre dame' was about 2 mins from the hotel. the batobus boat then stops at the louvre, musee d'orsay, eiffel, etc etc. as a vegetarian i found the italian restaurants in st.severin really handy too. then if you walked away from the river you had the st.germain shops to the other side.
