CALL FOR ENTRIES : book update

i just thought id like to give everybody an update today on whats happening with the forthcoming 'print & pattern book'. i want to thank everyone who answered my 'call for entries' back in june, and to let anyone know, who is still wanting to submit designs, that the closing date for open submissions is august 31st 2008. after that date i'll be able to start making the final selections. just as a reminder im looking for designs from studios, freelancers, students, graduates, etsy/dawanda designers, etc, etc. you can submit any designs that you think suit the print & pattern style. if you missed the original post and want to know more details of how to submit click here.

  1. Does it have to be a plain pattern/print or can it be an object that you've made or either? I'm always reading your blog but never comment. I wish Paperchase was slightly cheaper because then I would probably live there.

  6. I am afraid the even one of my files will not go through either to you or to the print and pattern email address. The required files seem to be too huge even for yahoo mail to attach a single one. I would really like to submit work. Please help!

  7. to email files you need to use compression i.e a zip file.

this makes them smaller than the 10mb maximum my account will take.
i then unzip the full size at my end using winzip.

but if you are unfamiliar with this just ping me an email and i will give you the ftp site details.

anyone else wanting the ftp can do the same - but please give your webaddress or blog if you can so i know its genuine.
if you give out ftp details out to just anyone or post them online you get weird people filling it up with movies, virus' etc.
thats why its on application only :)

  8. I became seriously indecisive when I was pulling together patterns to submit so I went ahead & burnt a bunch of new designs onto a CD & sent it over to you the old fashioned way.

Is there any way to confirm that you guys recv'd the pkg (and the disc was OK)? I would hate to miss out on possibly being in the book just because my pkg went a.w.o.l in the mail.

I'm bubbling up with anticipation for book to be released! Congrats again & good luck putting the whole fabulous thing together. I'm sure there's no shortage of amazing patterns being submitted.

I love your blog too! I sent my cd in the post as I couldn't send over yahoo either - too big! Would you be able to let me know if you have received it (sorry I know you must be very busy!) I (like hangtight) am also worried about it being lost in the post! Thanks.
