NEW YORK SNAPS - kate's paperie

we are back in new york on print & pattern today with some store snaps taken last month in kate's paperie. no new york trip is complete without a visit to one of their four manhattan shops. i visited one at 72 spring street, soho which is my fave, and another at 140 west 57th street. kate's is a shrine to all things made of paper and covers stationery, crafts, table decorations, cards, gift wrap, and albums. the selection is beautiful, you wont find anything in here that hasnt been chosen for its great design. incidently if you have ever wondered who 'kate' was well the paperie was named after the wife of leonard flax who founded the company in 1988 with joe barriero. scroll down to see lots of gorgeous designs and much more can be bought online here.
i loved the pattern made from the kate's paperie logo, shown here on a flag outside the spring street store. all the k's join together to form an abstract pattern. so clever and looks fab.

  2. I love the first design best - the birds one. Its quite remarkable how many different representations of birds there are in the design world and they are all so simple, effective and lovely. Love your blog. Tons of inspiration.
