LAURA ASHLEY : 1953 - 2013

in 2013 laura ashley will celebrate its 60th anniversary. you may have heard before that laura and her husband bernard started their business by hand printing small scarves on their kitchen table, but you may not have seen what they were like. at the ss2013 press show last month the very first of those scarves was placed on display. shown above and below it featured small geometric squares and was inspired by their holiday to italy in 1952. within a short time the scarves began to sell in great quantities and the rest is history. here are a few snaps below from some of the other archive items on display.
