Textile brand Ten to Sen is the label of designer Rieko Oka. Whilst studying design Rieko replicated the wallpapers of William Morris to study the construction of patterns and how to make them. From this she created her own wallpaper before moving into textiles as she felt fabrics had more use in everyday life. From her base in Hokkaido Rieko loves to create prints with landscapes, nature, and wildlife, and her inspiration comes from the scenery and scenes she sees in her daily life. Ten to Sen embroidery designs are created on vintage dot and line machines which Rieko finds give the fabrics a classic charm and warmth to the delicate and complex stitching.
