DESIGNER - sarah milner

Sarah Milner is an Australian surface pattern designer based in the stunning Atherton Tablelands, nestled between the outback and palm tree lined tropical beaches of Far North Queensland. Sarah loves to create patterns that tell a story and evoke an inner joy, warmth and hint of nostalgia. She is a past MIID and Immersion alumni and although' reasonably new to surface pattern design, Sarah has licensed patterns in several different countries and also had her patterns chosen by Porter and Brawn in their top picks for the Make it in design Summer and Winter schools, as well as third prize winner chosen by Fashion Formula UK. Her latest collections are ‘Open Country’ which takes you on a nature walk through the bush tracks that surround her rural property. The soft and whimsical floral patterns and old school vintage checks hint at the simplicity of yesteryear and are designed to warm the soul. This versatile collection comes in two colour-ways, sepia and country grey. The next collection is New Dawn a ‘nouveau retro' pattern collection, inspired by Sarah's local surrounding with a hint of 70's retro nostalgia and is designed to brighten each new day. It features a sun kissed and earthy colour palette inspired by break-of-dawn walks and mountains that surround her town and the idyllic palm-tree coast line features heavily in this collection.
