Carole Fenwick is a surface pattern designer based in the UK. For the past few years, as Maggiemagoo Designs she has created a variety of products including printed textiles, homewares, art prints, stationery & embroidery hoop art. Her work is inspired by the natural world, with plants, flowers & insects featuring throughout her unique designs.
After working in the greetings card industry for almost 20 years Carole decided to pursue a freelance design career at the end of 2019. 2020 was a challenging year in many ways, but at the end of last year she launched her first greetings card collection, which was really well received and is available to buy from her online shop & stockists here in the UK, Germany & the USA.
As well as running her own business Carole is involved with an inspiring community arts project in Leeds, called Leeds Little Free Library, which is a free book exchange programme. The aim of the project is to encourage literacy & the magic of books, as well as supporting local artists & promoting street art. The simple concept is that the ‘library’ is filled with books that are free for anyone to take & perhaps leave a book for someone else too. She is one of a number of local artists who paint these little wooden boxes, which are dotted about the city.
Plans for 2021 include producing her own collection of textiles, expanding the greetings card range, wallpaper design, more collaborations & libraries. Feel free to contact Carole to discuss working together.
