DESIGNER - laura escalante

Laura Escalante is an illustrator and surface pattern designer, born and raised in Bogotá, Colombia. Laura's career has been highly influenced by her country’s biodiversity and its tropical connection as she loves to draw exotic animals and flora. Laura evokes magic and whimsical feelings through her soft, detailed, and delicate motifs, mainly inspired by nature; they are layered and interwoven with simple graphic elements in gentle and soft calming colours. Her work is greatly influenced by colour psychology; she is fascinated by colours and believes in their power to express feelings and change everything. Textures are also a very important part of her work and through them she transmits a sense of calmness. Laura's work is a perfect blend of both traditional mediums like watercolor and hand drawn motifs with a balance of digitally created textures. She is happy and willing to take commissions and license her existing work with companies. Laura especially enjoys designing for stationery, kids’ fashion, homeware, and baby products but is open to any other ideas.
