exciting news today about a brand new book on my favourite subject - pattern design. PATTERNS - NEW SURFACE DESIGN by drusilla cole (the author who bought us the brilliant 1000 patterns) has just been published. celebrating the recent revival in pattern design it features the work lots of contemporary designers including lena corwin, emily burningham, hanna werning, and nadia sparham. the book has 240 pages which are divided into chapters by print type and best of all its jam packed with pictures. the captions which accompany each design give an insight into the work, how and why it was created , often with quotes from the designers themselves. all in all this book is a must have addition for any designer. click the page images to get a closer look.
