KIDS WEEK - illustration

the kids week concept has really spiralled and more and more great stuff has been sent to me, or come to light in research. hence i'll now be seeing out this second week entirely focused on childrens design. im going to post tons of things over the next 2 days as next week i'll be on holiday. this will give you loads of time to look over the designs and their links whilst im away.

i really enjoyed browsing the framed childrens illustrations that are on sale in japan at syoukai tv. they include P+P favourites such as akemi tezuka and cozy tomato.

KIDS WEEK - atelier lzc

sketchbooks for children (or designers/crafters) by P+P fave atelelier lzc. i spotted them in london at the general trading store in sloane square, chelsea. apart from all the great notebooks & pads they have lovely atelier lzc cards for kids.

KIDS WEEK - kukunest

these are such beautiful prints on bedlinen from kukunest. designed and run by teri dimalanta and laura mameesh who are both mothers of young children they were inspired to create patterns that were "visually arresting, colorful and eclectic and above all, meant to fuel children's imaginations". im sure they've certainly achieved it. teri also has a website here for her design label giddy giddy.

i recently bought a book on japanese book design which features these cool retro kids graphics from the late tadashi ohashi.

KIDS WEEK - mahar

i found the site for mahar dry goods in a round about way from poppytalk via design*sponge's excellent 'around the web' column. they have some very sweet designs for children and craft fans alike.

jackie shapiro of french bull does the best melamine plates in the business, and these are from her childrens range featuring monsters, superheroes, and robots. good places to see the designs include elephant shoe and plum party.
