I have always loved looking at Japanese design as you often see something different. Japanese artists seem to have a unique way of looking at things. One of my recent discoveries has been Keiko Shibata an illustrator from Kochi, who studied at Nara University Art College. Her works are mainly created for magazines, advertising and packaging, but Keiko also illustrates children's books with her colourful and whimsical work. One of P&P's Designers for Hire members Cressida Carr has been super busy this Autumn adding new work to her website. Cressida is a freelance artist based in The New Forest in Hampshire who has twenty years of design experience working in London. Previous clients have included Mothercare, Harrods, and Peacocks. I really love this new scrapbook collection from Crate Paper called 'Hooray'. This is a fun and colourful birthday themed range featuring candles, cakes and animal party guests. The aim of the designs is to create joy it certainly works with the cheerful colours and celebration messages. Products include patterned papers, stickers, chipboard elements, and greetings cards.
