todays posts are all featuring the stunning work of japanese designer shoko sugiyama. because of the language barrier i dont know too much about this young lady, except that she is fabulously talented and i love all her work ! visit her website here at popover.

tina from soo hoo on paper left a comment yesterday inviting us to view her great range of cards. there is a graphic style card for just about every occassion on her website and some unusual christmas cards.

soo hoo on paper also have a cafepress site where you can get notebooks, bags and this dotty mouse mat.

christmas on the high street is never as exciting as in the boutiques, but here are a few interesting designs from marks & spencer and john lewis.

sandie from robert kaufman fabrics emailed to tell me about the weather in vegas, and what better excuse is needed to check out some of the designs where she works. theres plenty to browse on the site, these were just some that caught my eye.
very sweet christmas cards (above) from freckleface designs, and some of their other cute designs below. based in nottingham 'freckleface' is tania lambert, who is the Winner of the Sir Paul Smith Enterprise Award, October 2006.

there was quite a lot of interest in the skeletal trees fabric i snapped in a store the other week, so i went back on saturday to check who it was by. its called 'woodland' from the whisper collection by prestigious textiles (who were featured here back in april). the pictures i took below show three different colourways, and the images from their website above show an large scale version.

i just wanted to give all readers a heads up that next month there will be no posts after november 10th as im heading off on holiday to america for a few weeks. i'll be visiting new york, las vegas, and san francisco. i was thrilled to see that my new york hotel is close to kate's paperie - so this will be a must see for me. i know that there are lots of US readers out there and wondered if i could ask a favour ? can anyone who lives in any of these cities give me an idea of the temperatures i can expect there during november ?. im guessing a big coat for new york ? but how about nevada or california ?. when i visited new york previously it was the coldest ive ever been in my life (that was thanksgiving week of 1993 !). any info or local knowledge will be greatly appreciated, especially in knowing what to pack in my case !

all images from kate's paperie, except american vintage mug from american square.
printed patterns from cozygen. graphic postcards above, and i really like the fresh looking tea towels below.
its nice sometimes to take a look at the homewares of other countries to try and get a fresh perspective. a colleague recently showed me a german catalogue from impressionen.

there are lots of stunning christmas cards and wrap up on the luxe paperie site. the top card using holly is from pinkerton designs and the above snowflakes from 9spotmonk. all designs below are by hello! lucky .

prints from kiss on cushions, plus interesting placement motifs on mugs & cups. i love the woodland one above which is by cement design who also did the fabulous mug designs featured back in july.

a selection of bright and fun patterns from super cute copacetique. this is the kind of design that can lift your spirits, and yet ticks trend boxes for featuring birds, chandeliers, and yellow. the notebooks are covered in designs by the amazing etsuko furuya. copacetique's website is really gorgeous and a great place to browse.

thomas paul comes up trumps again with 'on trend' designs featuring birds and top fashion colour yellow. his last collection proved very influential here in the UK and im sure these new designs will have the same effect. top blog designsponge is currently hosting a thomas paul competition to replace ugly pillows with beautiful ones. winners will be announced tommorow.
nice kitchen textiles and unusual lampshades that are designed for kids but could appeal to all ages. the penguin one could be good for christmas. as seen on the habitat website.

todays posts are all showing various prints & patterns that caught my eye whilst out and about shopping this weekend. above bits and pieces from next, including a lovely graphic flower print. below flasks, frames and candle tins from tiger.

below black & white ceramic designs from john lewis and homebase. floral mugs also from homebase. followed by textile prints all seen in debenhams.
