if you're looking to design with birds then be inspired by the works of legendary illustrator charley harper. there are two great websites of his work to view here and here.
Oh, these birds are so lovely. Great to be inspired just before a whole bunch of public holidays which give me LOADS of uninterrupted studio time. Yippee!
oh oh oh! these pieces are georgeous! thanks for this post, i'm going to have to look into this guy!!! i can't decide which would be my favorite they are all fab!
these are the most beautiful things I have seen for a long time - thanks for finding them - they are a bit pricey but I don't think I am going to be able to resist. The only trouble is they are all great - I can't choose a favourite. Keith@absolutezerodegrees.com
I just saw a piece on CBS Sunday morning about Charley Harper - what gorgeous illustrations! I love the geometric nature and the whimsy of creating craetures out of every day shapes...
Thanks for your post about Charley Harper! I just want to add that his prints are available at various price points, so there's something for everyone. The lithographs start at $50, a few serigraphs are still $90 [and run into the hundreds], there are posters for $30 and up, and notecards are $2 each [they look great framed!]. Charley was a populist artist and wanted everyone to be able to enjoy his work!
