staying in john lewis i loved this 'apples' oilcloth fabric, £10 a metre - apart from use in the kitchen this would be great for craft tables or protecting your desk if you're gluing, cutting, painting etc. at the bottom of the post is one of their new fabrics.

i'm a huge fan of John Lewis oilcloth: love this new-ish pattern, and will be stocking up when in the U.K. in October. I've used oilcloth to protect tables, upholster chair seats, and even upholster walls -- it's a really good product, thanks for the info on the apples one! lynn-anne
