another owl today to add to our trend research - these stylish owls on cards and button badges are from dudley redhead's etsy shop. 
still on the subject of christmas cards texture cards are a brand new line of greetings cards from cathryn and tom carpenter, who are a husband and wife team of graphic designers. they've given up their london office in order to work from home to be with their 2 children. hence texture cards was born. if you're keen to purchase or stock their cards you can email texture from here.
these gorgeous patterns are on belt buckles designed and produced by butterfly blue. made using glazed imagery on copper or antique silver bases, they are easily interchangeable onto brown or black belts. justine will be launching the full collection at the top drawer exhibition in january, where she will also introduce a rectangular design. regular readers may remember justine's beautiful pendants featured here last july. contact butterfly blue to find out more.
suzanne shearer is the designer behind phatsheep, she designed all these textile prints herself in her workshop at home on the shetland isles. her work is mostly inspired by her local surroundings in the shetlands, both the built and natural environment. prints such as 'croft' and 'fair isle' use motifs inspired by shetlands cultural heritage. click here to read more about suzanne or find a retail/online stockist.

as im sure you will know owls are not a new print trend, but they still seem to be going strong and thankfully remain popular. so today i thought i'd compile a bit of a review. starting with these cool stationery items from rock scissor paper, where owls actually get their own shop!

i spotted these letter sets for sale on a japanese website, and thought i'd try and research the designers and take a look at their other work. they turned out to be by a japanese company called crackle design. scroll down to see more of their charming illustrations.
maricel from buenos aries, argentina left us a comment last week inviting us all to take a look at her wall decals, and im so glad she did there are some really great designs to found here at mapiurka. i love those colourful geo ones at the top of the post best.
these beautiful contemporary rub-ons are from california based hambly screen prints . originally started as a silk screen printers over 35 years ago the company have recently been making a name for themselves on the scapbook scene with these striking designs on papers, overlays, stickers and rub-ons.

since my earlier post ive been finding more and more matryoshkas, some of which were these gorgeous wall decals from home stickers. turns out 'home stickers' are made by nouvelles images, but these great pictures were taken from japanese site gadget club. i couldnt seem to see this series on the nouvelle site, although you can still see cool designers like maison georgette and atelier lzc on their site, and find stockists near you.
maine based designer angela adams has put together a selection of christmas 'stocking stuffers', and they are even supplying the stockings themselves. items include soaps, candles, jams & honeys, trays and paper goods - all in angela's distinctive prints.
these sophisticated patterns are from boston based gift wrap designer erin ruth. the papers are 50% recycled and printed with soy inks, plus the sheets are larger than standard with a lovely silky feel. they are currently sold in over 40 retail outlets in the US, but, and heres the good bit, they are readily available to all of us wherever we are through erin ruth's etsy shop. erin is also looking to expand into the UK and europe so why not contact her if you'd be interested in becoming a stockist.
a lovely email from designer clare nicolson arrived just a day too late for my matryoshka post yesterday. turns out clare has a russian doll the centre of her christmas cards this year, appropriately called 'olga'. click here to see her in clare's online shop, where you can view other gift ideas.
japanese designers curly collection have put together a great range of christmas goodies based on their trademark vintage prints. if you're feeling inspired it may be worth scouring ebay or charity stores for your own vintage motifs !. fans of retro wrapping paper should check out 'all wrapped up' by kevin akers here.
