the wall sticker shop is a new online source of wall decals. they have all sorts of styles and brands in their store, and here are some choice designs. wall stickers make a big impact on a low budget, and the best part is that they simply peel off again if you fancy a change or move home.

new things have been happening over at sukie since i last looked. like these fab soft back recycled notebooks in four new designs. theres a new agenda book and somewhen soon fabrics to look forward to.
gorgeous new lazer cut cards from ally gore and rob reader. the range is called opera d'arte and can be bought direct from ally's site or wholesale trade through the art file. 
tam tam were recently awarded with 'card of the year' for their "sweet birthday wishes" - greeting card (above) at the louie awards in NYC during the national stationery Show. congrats to tami who reported her win here. more info and details about the louies can be read here, or check out a full list of 2009 winners here.
sarah wade is a uk based freelance surface pattern designer and illustrator working in Suffolk . sarah graduated from northampton university in 2004 with a degree in graphic design (specialising in illustration). since then she has worked in the greetings and stationery industries. sarah now works on a freelance basis from her home in ipswich at her design house studios for a variety of clients within the publishing, textiles and stationery industries.

maja lindberg from sweden recently told me about her blog. once a day she creates a new illustration to publish on her blog. the illustration can be anything, a simple object, a pattern, a figure, or a portrait. maja was previously a ceramic artist, then a web designer and now works with children. one day maja would really like to learn screenprinting and put her patterns on fabric or other objects, but for now she uses her blog as a way to keep her illustrating alive. the text is in swedish but the beautiful designs speak for themselves.
i had an email from hdk in gothenberg to tell me (in swedish) about their graduation show. obviously i couldnt understand much of the email, but i did discover some great prints which ive highlighted in this post. the designs used for the shows poster are by cecila peterssen (more here) who also has a blog in english here. this followed by the work of lydia blomgren, and at the bottom kicki edgren nyborg.
super talented designer robin zingone will be exhibiting at 'the licensing expo' in las vegas, which takes place june 2nd - june 4th at the mandalay. lots of buyers will be attending the show including marks & spencer, tesco, urban outfitters, target, and walmart. robin will be in booth 2072. these are some examples from robin's striking wedding collection.

print & pattern has a lovely new sponsor in the shape of 'fabric worm' and online fabric store in the USA. this cute shop stocks all the big names you would expect kokka, micheal miller, amy butler, erin mcmorris, denyse schmidt, alexander henry and many more. they also have an etsy shop. you'll always find a link to their main site, handy to check the latest prints, in the left hand column.

lotta jansdotter has launched new collection of exclusive line of stationery (created together with a company in Japan). called “pö om pö” which is swedish for “little by little”. it includes 3 colour ways of lotta's new 'maja' pattern which are fun and bright. the collection includes cute sticky notes, cards, notebooks. also avaialble is a wire bound sketch book with cute stickers in which you can paste in photos, inspiration, and drawings. see lotta's website here for more.
the soma gallery in bristol's beautiful clifton district have a fantastic online shop. new arrivals include these lovely prints from artist sally elford. in atmospheric grey and black there are four designs in the set, my favourite being the dandelions above. see here for all of sally's work at soma. if you like the look of soma you can check the site regularly for new arrivals from the link in the sponsor column left.

finally if you are in children's design then next months show bubble is the place to go. opening on june 21st at islington business design centre it features trend led and designer companies with the emphasis on style.
after last weeks cool jonathan adler packaging we now have these fabulous new patterned tea towels. geometric patterns in either cool blue, green, or hot colours make a fantastic pattern statement. and in a true moment of inspiration they are named after types of tea “chamomile,” “darjeeling,” and “earl grey”. this is a sneak peak but they will be available very soon.

the excellent mini moderns (from absolute zero degrees) are now kind sponsors of print & pattern. the london based designers create super stylish products for children. i thought i would highlight two forthcoming new designs for clothkits. eveything you need to sew a little girl's dress will come within the kit, and with mini moderns' great prints you are sure to have something unique.
we are so lucky today on P+P to have a sneak peak at a forthcoming range of cards designed by the awesome lab partners published by lagom. you may remember lab partners (aka sarah and ryan) came to many of our attentions with their stunning san francisco print which sold by the stack on etsy. they will be illustrating 12 greetings cards for lagom which are based around a sausage dog and his adventures around paris. the collection is called monsieur boudin. boudin (pronounced [ˈboudɛñ]) describes a number of different types of sausage used in french cuisine.

as summer approaches paperchase always release a travel collection featuring everything you need for holidays. passport holders, luggage tags, journals, photo albums, and picnicware make up just some of the products available. this years theme 'globe jotter' features a colourful retro style city print, and is mixed with stylish camera prints. scroll down to take a look at some of the pieces. uk readers can check out amazon for online shopping and their local paperchase stores, us readers will find them in borders.
in sweden even the toilet paper is embellished with stylish pattern. these were created by swedish designers tio gruppen for edet. the patterns are called 'sticks' and 'treviso' and have been specially adapted in orange and green.
'red letter day' is the second fabric collection by lizzy house for andover fabrics. in three colourways and a host of different prints its a bright and graphic collection, and is a follow up to the successful lizzy dish collection. the prints are beginning to appear online and in stores now. you can visit lizzy's blog to see more.
cyrille and lise are the sisters gulassa, an international design studio producing patterns for textiles and surfaces. they collaborate across the continents with lise in california and cyrille in vienna. as well as working for clients such as gap, target, and northface they have also started to create their own line of sisters gulassa products, beginning with paper products, fabric, and totes. find out more about the sisters work here, or head straight to their shop.
jared andrew schorr is a california based artist who makes the most detailed papercut designs. jared is a recent graduate from art center college of design in pasadena, and has a portfolio of work online here.
the surtex show in new york is now in full swing so today is the last day for shout outs. now i'll be hoping that all those who are attending the show will give us reports on how it went, take snapshots and generally blog all about it. for those of us in the UK we have some important shows coming up in the next few weeks so i'll be mentioning those shortly. but for now its back to surtex and british designer lucy clark will be showing her latest designs, some of which are posted here, on the stand of her agency advocate in booth 346.


designer/illustrator caleb gray will be showing his full portfolio of work at surtex in booth 363. calebs work is perfect for products such as stationery and scrapbooking items, holiday gifts and children’s décor. two new collections of work that will be showcased this year at Surtex are hipster hop and neo vintage. you can also see their brand new website here.
february 13 creative is a san francisco based studio of three artists. their playful, colorful, graphic style is perfectly suited to a wide array of products, and at surtex they hope to introduce their work to a wider audience. specialising in designs for celebrations check them out in booth 362 for greeting cards, announcements, invitations, tableware, packaging and giftwrap

british designer rachel harper's work will be exhibited at surtex in new york this year through her licensing agency inspire by design. on display will be a huge range of work from rachel and several other artists available for licensing across all products. see them at booth 324/326.

there have been some great new arrivals in at online paper boutique 'papergrain' since i last had a browse. especially these fun colourful new designs from pango productions.
hullabaloo home decor have licensed the fabric designers sandi henderson and joel dewberry to make decorative fabric gift boxes. they consist of a traditional gift box dressed in 100% cotton overlaid on the surface, & come with a grossgrain ribbon bow, a tag and tissue paper. they have stockists in the usa or shop online here.
doreen mulryan marts, a new jersey based illustrator , "throws her hat into the licensing ring" this month with new patterns and spot illustrations in her first ever appearance at surtex. dorren specializes in spot illustration, character design, patterns and product design. see her at booth 552.
the excellent 'disco butterfly' also known as anna shepherd has recently added some brilliant new kids designs to her range. there are personalised mugs in a new childs size featuring either letters or numbers, you can even have the name, date of birth, and where the child was born. i have a real fondness so for decorative fonts so i love the personalised canvases (below). also new are personalised luggage tags so you will recognise your case at the airport immediately. they are made of robust fibre glass and a metal fixing to secure onto your luggage. visit the disco butterfly shop here at not on the high street for tons of good stuff.
nicole law and julia lee skinner are two designers from sydney who have created the near future making screen printed tea-towels which are bold, graphic and modern. or as the girls like to say "tea towels are no longer twee towels!. the designs are printed locally in sydney onto 100% european linen and the packaging is plain unbleached and recycled paper. you can see the near future on etsy, or follow them on their blog here.
the students of the BA (honours) creative practice course at newcastle college will be having their end of year show next week. this is a small selection of the work of six students who all specialise in textiles using various techniques, and all with very different approaches to the subject. above and below is the work of stacey stanton. if you want to contact any of the designers featured please email stacey17321@hotmail.com.

really cool packaging for jonathan adler's new salt & pepper shakers. each set of shakers have their own unique packaging inspired by the shape of the products. lovely colours and great graphics. this brand new collection will be released soon.

artist and illustrator catalina estrada sent me over some pics of her recent exhibition in barcelona. originally from south america catalina is based in europe these days and has become an artist who is in great demand. her clients have included paul smith, chronicle books, levi's and sony. i was particulalry struck by the wall and window decals for her show, and as a reminder of her trademark style i have posted a few of her beautiful prints on cushions. for more on catalina's show see here. it runs until the end of may.
designer nadia flower creates delicate, stylish and fashionable prints for clients such as fornarina and lily allen. she has recently updated her website to include new work, with a particular interest in pattern design. check them out here.
top designer and illustrator amy schimler will have new prints available for the juvenile and stationery markets at surtex, nyc next week. amy will be represented by group four design at booth 313.
angie lewin will be opening her first solo exhibition at the st.judes gallery, norfok on may 16th. there will be brand new works for sale, and for those of us who cant attend but love to admire herangie's work angie has recently added new work to her website here.
these are the colourful designs of balakrishna madana. balakrishna graduated from nottingham trent university in 2007 with an MA in textile design, and now works freelance creating patterns for womenswear and interiors. you can see his online portfolio here where balakrishna has designs for everything from silk scarves to greetings cards.
just some of the beautiful designs on sale in the ellen crimi-trent's etsy shop. ellen had these lovely mother's day designs in last week that featured super cute patterned birds. i also love the pen and ink floral designs. as a freelance illustrator and designer ellen is usually to be found creating products for other people, but through etsy she can have fun showcasing her own colllections. ellen's blog is also a great read for design and illustration fans.
swanky swell is the textile project of nina jizhar an interior designer from the san francisco bay area. her love of textiles inspired her to have a go at screenprinting, and all these designs have been screenprinted by hand onto upholstery weight fabric. see them here online at swanky swell.
i love the choices of papers nicole annette uses to make her hand crafted eco friendly journals. you're sure to find patterns you like if you check out her etsy shop journal junky.

fab designer and illustrator carolyn gavin will be exhibiting at surtex and at the stationery show. she'll be launching brand new designs for her company ecojot at the new york national Stationery show, booth 2744. buyers will get free delivery on orders of $250 or more, plus they'll be doing giveaways of beautiful pocket notebooks + workbooks. carolyn will also be exhibiting her designs with her wonderful rep lilla rogers at surtex, booth 251-253.
also exhibiting at the upcoming Surtex show will be the studio jill mcdonald design who specialize in prints & illustrations for baby, kids & teen. see them at booth 147.
the design team at galison must have been reading our P+P comments yesterday, as after we discussed the new lines seen over at design*sponge these fab images arrived in my inbox. galison always have the most fabulous collections of stationery and they work with the best designers. these have been produced with paula smail of henry road, julia rothman, and geninne zlatkis. you'll be able to view these as part of their new autumn range at the new york stationery show in booth 2521.
im featuring some more surtex exhibitors today which is great, as its turning into a kind of ad hoc show guide. the stunning type above is from the show flyer for lylove studio, a contemporary new york city based textile design print studio. owned by jessica sancilardi and stephanie daniele. they specialize in swimwear, resort, sleepwear, kids, t-shirt graphics, paper and home furnishings. find them at booth 321 and 323. 

new york based designer and illustrator nancy wolff will be showing her new collections for fabric, children's bedding, gift wrap, cards, and more at surtex in booth 358.

pie bird press will be exhibiting their latest line of letterpressed cards. you will find them in booth 2049 at the national stationery show, NYC, may 16th-20th 2009.
wonderful designer erin mcmorris sent me the details of a new fabric collection she has created for freespirit called wildwood. released this month it comes in three colourways 'aspen', 'fern' and 'myrtle'. erin says "it's a real springtime collection that really shows my love of all things dotty". if you enjoyed the brilliant park slope collection then you will be sure to love this brand new series. you can visit freespirit's site here, or head over the fat quarter shop, where they have the whole collection. to find out more about erin see here.
designers, agents, and buyers all over the world are grearing up for this months surtex trade show. im going to be giving shout-outs here on P+P to some of the great highlights of the show. by far the best flyer i have seen so far for the show was from jilly phillips who made the super cute design above for her mail out. you'll find jilly's gorgeous work on the lilla rogers stand at booth 251- 253.

you can find brand new studio pink light design in booth 254 ,(right across from lilla rogers which will be a must see). pink light's creative director has been working in the fashion industry in the childrens wear market for the past 7 years as a senior textile designer, but started this new studio to bring her art to new markets. so be sure to check out their collections at the show or online here.

super talented designer jane foster has created these gorgeous screen printed and vintage/retro fabric cats. jane has the most amazing eye for beautiful retro and scandinavian prints and a glance at her website or blog is a visual feast. you can see the cats in her online shop here, which also stocks vintage fabric goodies and jane's beautiful prints.
fabric rehab have just taken delivery of a wonderful selection of kokka fabrics. this russian doll and flower design is brand new print that hasnt yet been widely available. its easy to order from fabric rehab online and its a great opportunity for uk readers to get hold of japanese and scandinavian type prints. see the whole cute collection here.

french illustrator and artist flora douville has updated to a brand new website address, and you can now find her portfolio online here.
the ideal card for sewing fans could be this one from tara axford aka dudley redhead - featuring a fabric swatch and button. the type reads 'you're sew wonderful'.
i wanted to showcase the lovely 'primrose hill' collection from designers guild. this london themed range really does have something for everyone and is suitable for both children and adults. with names such as chalk farm, elephant and castle, regents park, hampstead, and of course primrose hill itself all the designs are named after areas of london. there are graphic mod florals, vintage roses, smart geometrics, cute characters, trees and buildings in the series. its a long post as i wanted to cover a little bit of all the different looks, but hopefully you will think it was worth it and you'll see something you like.

there are amazing designs being made from paper over at leptitpapillon, also known as the butter flying. its all the wonderful work of a french interior/product designer based in montréal, canada. the leptitpapillon blog is a fascinating view and if you get the desire to own a piece you can see their etsy shop here.
"senor picklesworth" is full time designer/maker gemma from Sunderland. after working as a freelance childrenswear designer gemma decided to create a handmade gift and accessory company - and senor picklesworth was born. there are stickers, cards, badges, mirrors, and more in the range all featuring fun style character illustrations. you can find out more on the website here or find them on etsy.
