NEW YEAR - 2012 calendars

with christmas fast approaching any day now i wanted to leave print & pattern with an outlook towards next year. these are some of my favourite 2012 calendar designs that were spotted whilst browsing on etsy. i just loved the big colourful numbers above on this calendar poster from yumalum above. below is a perpetual calendar of printable blocks from project 44.below : a 70's retro scandinavian influence looks fab from one little bird. below : two calendars from monkey mind design, the first featuring overlapping geometric shapes and the second patterns.
below : leah duncan has produced a limited edition calendar that once finished can be used as wall art. below: khristian a howell has put together a calendar based on her print collection 'the woodlands'. i love the folky style illustrations on this wonderful calendar from junecraft.
below : a calendar featuring the distinctive illustration style of dekanimal.
another clever illustrator is galia bernstein who has also illustrated a peacock, below, for her 2012 calendar.below : dainty loose flowers look great on this folky calendar from spread the love. below : a colourful option from designer jill browning.

below : lucious flower illustrations on a wall calendar from the ferntree studio.finally, although from etsy, but available online is the 2012 fabric calendar from lotta jansdotter.

XMAS - patrick hruby wrap

i am a big admirer of the work of patrick hruby (who features in the book print & pattern 2) and so i was really pleased to be able to see his take on christmas design. patrick has created a "wrap pack" for wrap magazine who this year have produced three different packs each featuring a sheet of wrapping paper, a card & envelope and 4 stickers to use instead of sticky tape. they've also introduced limited edition 'tape shapes' as a fun alternative to ordinary tape. find them to buy online here.

DESIGNER - david david

i was introduced to the bold geometric work of david david through the lollipop shoppe where he recently held a pop up event online. david saunders was originally working as an artist with tracy emin when he became involved in fashion design and launched his own label david david.
