kristen morkel is a south african textile designer, who having worked in the design industry for a few years, decided to quit her job a year ago and to start an online textile design studio. called design kist it features a collection of south african freelancers (at this stage all her college buddies!) who submit their work to sell online. it has taken a whole year to develop, but now that they have launched design kist are trying to promote the idea to both the local (who source most designs from european design houses) and the international market. click here to visit design kist online where all their designs are sold with exclusive copyright and are downloadable directly in a high res format.
uk designer amanda dilworth has created a collection of beautiful new wallpaper designs for australian company imgs. there are eight patterns in the range - my personal favourite being the gorgeous teal alliums set against the grey background. you can see more from imgs here or visit amanda's blog.
uk card company velvet rocker have just launched a brand new website where you view and shop their ranges. as well as exisiting designs they also undertake commissions and tailor make cards and invitations for weddings etc. visit the new site online here.

hand drawn illustrations on plates by james ward. james loves to draw in pen and ink and was inspired by a trip to sweden to start experimenting with ceramics. you see all his quirky whimsical characters on etsy here.
frances moran is a freelance surface pattern & textile designer who lives in melbourne, australia where she runs the design studio poco print. frances loves creating designs, patterns, and illustrations to suit any surface and has worked in industry (for large and small companies) but has never been as content as when working from her own studio. poco print's main direction is design for a younger market with a focus is on super cute, sweet, simple, fresh and fun designs - probably largely influenced by frances being a mum to 2 little boys. for more designs and info check out the poco print website here.

i was really pleased to discover this week that top stationery designers sukie now have an online shop at not on the high street. sukie are brighton based designers darrell and julia gibbs and they are well known for their recycled paper notebooks. new products include textile bags and cushions. see the sukie shop online here. 
i noticed whilst in urban outfitters last week that chronicle books have changed the way they are making their sukie iron-on pads. the new and improved versions are in the shops now.
