GRAPHIC STYLE - blue & brown
australian company blue & brown seem to want to cover our offices and desks in pattern, and thats fine by me. skye ‘blue’ vermeesch and kirsten brown apply graphic design to a range of mediums such as artwork for commercial projects, furniture, woven textiles and stationery. i recieved a great newsletter today announcing they are now working with illustrator and artist campbell laird. if you're asking whos he ? see the next post.
ARTIST - campbell laird
beautiful bright colours on bold graphic artworks from award-winning australian artist campbell laird. each piece is individually printed on artist's cotton canvas or watercolor paper, using pigment based inks. laird hand draws all his lines, shapes, scratches, distortions and textures into his printer's software. he says "my work occupies the space between hand made and digital. my ultimate aim is to create deceptively simple, meditative works that fit naturally into modern environments."
