I thought I would have a look and see what was new at Mini Labo since we last looked, and of course there have been some new Autumn Winter arrivals. In case you don't know this really sweet brand they are a Paris based company founded by Celine Heno and Caroline Diaz and specialise in stationery, paper, homewares and ceramics. New items include trays, wrapping paper, wallpaper, wooden postcards and a set of plants made from paper.
After browsing Mini Labo's own website I went on to see what their Japanese division are up to. As we know Japanese love Paris style and it's no surprise to find they are popular and there are a lot more products available over there. Here are some of my picks from Mini Labo at Belle Maison Japan.
These fabulous 'creature posters' are the work of illustrator, surface pattern and print designer Dan Walters. You may remember Dan from his previous work with Peagreen Studio, but he is now the Creative Director of the See Creatures Studio. Founded in 2014 and based in Brighton Dan has 13 years of creative experience and his previous clients have included Paperchase, Boden, Habitat, Urban Outfitters and Gap. Besides the See Creatures Studio with it's portfolio of designs that are ready for clients to buy or licence there is also an online shop offering these beautiful animal art prints along with stickers and notebooks.
Staying in Brighton I wanted to mention the Unlimited Shop an independent shop and gallery. One of this years Unlimited Shop projects has been Four Play where they asked over 40 designers to create a print from a given 4 letter word and just four colours. One of those taking part was Dan Walters from the See Creatures Studio who we featured in the last post. Dan created the 'Easy Tiger' print which was exhibited in London and Brighton and along with lots of other prints and products are available from the Unlimited Shop here.
