Camille Medina is a freelance illustrator. Through her light-hearted and quirky designs, Camille’s goal is to create art that spreads joy, fun and happiness. She is currently working on a variety of projects ranging from designing a new card collection for her Etsy shop to illustrations for gift and stationery products. She has worked with clients as diverse as the BBC, Jellycat, Templar Publishing, the Natural History Museum and the Leicester City Council. I am starting the week with another fab Designer for Hire. Love Woods is owned by Brittany Bucknall - a freelance surface pattern designer and illustrator who works mainly for the children’s design market but has also worked on main range designs. Brittany is passionate about animals and the habitats in which they live. She grew up in a rural part of England surrounded by woodlands and fields which is where her love for nature began. Brittany has been working as a freelance designer and illustrator ever since she graduated from Leeds Arts University in 2017; where she studied Printed Textiles and Surface Pattern Design. She loves creating charming, fun, bold and colourful designs in her studio room at home in West Yorkshire - which is filled with all of the things that inspire her! Brittany’s designs have been manufactured all over the world with clients in the UK, France, Denmark, China and the USA. Her work has been featured on many products from children’s textiles, homeware, stationery, giftware and greetings cards. Brittany would absolutely love for the opportunity to grow her business and work with new clients so she would love to hear from you! Talking of Designers for Hire Jackie Tahara from UnBlink Studio has produced a new collection. Jackie is a Canadian surface pattern designer and illustrator who works from her studio in beautiful Victoria, British Columbia, surrounded by mountains, forests, beaches and the Pacific Ocean. Her newest collections of illustrations and co-ordinating repeat patterns include her “Snake In the Grass” Collection which features cheeky snakes hidden within jungly tropical landscapes, and abstract patterns in beautiful soft colours. Her “Flat Lay Floral” Collection features designs inspired by the flat lay-style photos of flowers that are so eye-catching on sites such as Instagram, together with geometric repeat patterns. Jackie loves to play with colour palettes and often offers collections in several fresh colourways. Jackie licenses her designs for a variety of products, with a focus on creating collections for fabric, homewares, stationery and wall art. And finally today we have another new project from a Designer for Hire. Alexandra Elliot loves designing for children and her latest work features an 'Under the Sea' theme perfect for a children's book.
