Karen Erasmus is an illustrator and surface pattern designer based in Melbourne (although she is originally from Devon). Karen has been a children’s book illustrator for many years and discovered pattern design about 18 months ago. Since then she has been working hard to improve her designs. Karen is also moving towards creating a shop and market stall for baby products featuring her own patterns and illustrations. So today I am posting up some of Karen's latest designs and anyone interested in licensing or commissions can visit her website here.
Karen is also offering a new idea for the Coronavirus pandemic. I cannot believe we are just a few days away now from Easter. Usually by this time I would have scoured the high street and snapped dozens of seasonal designs. But with the Coronavirus and lockdown this year's round-up will have to be compiled from press shots. To get the ball rolling I have compiled a small selection from UK supermarket Sainsbury's. They are one of the few retailers who are allowed to remain open during the crisis. For their Easter decorations this year they've gone for a tropical theme with bunny rabbits in grass skirts and even pineapple and flamingo motifs make an appearance.
