DESIGNER FOR HIRE - deinki

We have a new entry in the Designers for Hire Directory today. Lucia Sanguinetti-Jonescheit works as a freelance Fashion & Surface Pattern Designer under the name DEINKI. She was born and raised in Argentina but has been living in northern Germany for the past decade with her husband, her two kids, and two cats. After finishing her degree in Fashion Design, creating cute but functional clothing and accessories for babies and kids became her daily work and passion. The products she had been working on for her clients were sold many stores in Germany and  25 other countries around in Europe. In 2018 Lucia fell in love with Surface Pattern Design and since then, she has been developing collections for her catalogue, where you can find more than a hundred patterns available for licensing in apparel, home decor, and stationery. Lucia is also available for custom work and collaborations. She describes her work as colourful, playful with a touch of nostalgia and you can see some highlights in this lovely showcase.

JAPANESE - korko

Regular readers will know I love to check out pattern design on google Japan, and one of the names I often look up is the Scandinavian Pattern Collection. This is a project that began in 2014 to bring companies in Tokyo together with designers in Stockholm, and the collaboration I researched was with umbrella maker Korko. Based in Nagoya the name Korko is Finnish for 'interest' and they've worked with both Swedish and Finnish artists to add style to create a fabulous umbrella collection. Here are some of the highlights.

EASTER BREAK - p&p returns 19th april

Print & Pattern is on it's annual Spring Break. I'll be following the school holiday this year so will return on April 19th. I have lots of great new design lined up for P&P's return and by then the UK retail lockdown will be over so I will hopefully have lots to report from the high street. See you soon for lots of great print.
