i recntly purchased this fabulous alexander girard book 'color' published by ammo books as part of their design greats series. girard fans will enjoy the 26 illustrations in this chunky board book but really it is intended to introduce little ones to great design at an early age. the cover design features a striking illustration simply called 'girls' from 1972. find colour online here at amazon uk or amazon usa or read more about the great work being done at ammo.
i dont tend to talk about my own work here on print & pattern but i wanted to let you know about this new collection created for robert kaufman called 'roar' featuring graphic style lions. there are six prints in the collection and its in fabric shops now.
it has been so hot here in england for the last couple of weeks that this sun print from artist jane ormes seemed very appropriate. the screenprinted design is called 'bring me sunshine' and was one of her new pieces for the exhibition printfest, along with these two charming owls below. jane also has lots of other new gocco prints currently for sale in her etsy shop here.
i was looking in a cookshop recently called dinghams and couldnt resist taking a few snapshots of items in their beautiful shop. being a collector i am always drawn straignt towards mugs. this little childs cup featuring fish was buy french company petit jour and the flowers mug just below by gisela graham and the dot com gift shop.
just round the corner from dinghams in another gift shop more colourful mugs were spotted and snapped. the sausage dogs and cats are by the fantastic designer carolyn gavin and the doiley bird from the dot com gift shop where i also found the elephant and owl designs.
finally today a few pattern based goodies spotted in accessorize. as you can imagine they have lots of lovely jubilee products in stock with plenty of union jack designs. starting though with summer prints on bags and an umbrella.
