a new exhibition opens this week in leicester called 'the animal alphabet in primitive portraits' featuring the artwork of mat mabe. the portraits explore the use of primitive geometric shapes such as triangles and circles to create complex organic forms. the show runs from the 11th-22nd april and mat also has an etsy shop online here.
these are some brand new works from designer caroline pratt who launched them as a range of cards and screenprints yesterday at the british craft trade fair in harrogate. the show will run until tuesday 9th if you are in the area. you can also see more from caroline at her lovely website here.
hemingway design in collaboration with surface view have added over forty new designs to their 2013 collection featuring geometric patterns with bright colour pops. the patterns are available as large scale wall murals, stretched canvases, wall hangings, and more. the prints were inspired by an eclectic range of sources, from the conran fabric archives to vintage finds in dusty attics. you can the see the whole collection online here.
renowned food illustrator claudia pearson has just launched her brand new website showcasing her portfolio, projects and shop all in one lovely place. new commissions that you can view their include a collaboration with west elm on tea towels and tableware. you can also get a sneak peak at claudia's studio (below) and see her brand new book for chronicle called 'drawing food' which is a sketchbook with guided instructions on drawing techniques. see more from the very talented claudia online here.
happy easter from print & pattern!. i hope you enjoyed all the easter coverage this year and even if you are not involved with the design of easter cards or products yourself i hope you still found inspiration for your own projects or purchases. i'll be away next week (off to see "david bowie is" at the V&A) and so print & pattern will return with loads of fab stuff on monday 7th april. have a lovely spring break and check out the great designs of caroline gardner which are shown here...
