pomelo & pomelo was founded by abby zweifel when she decided to break out of the corporate design world and try her hand at designing her own prints and patterns. abby took the art & business of surface design e-course and is looking for art licensing, commissions as well as representation. abby lives in florida where she finds lots of inspiration from the surrounding plants, animals and gorgeous sunsets.
kirsti davidson of plainly patterned is going to be doing her first ever trade show next month at PG live where she will be launching her first card collection. based in brighton kirsti's background is in fine art but she later returned to study surface design at the university of the arts. you will find kirsti in the springboard section at PG live in london's islington from 14th-15th may or see more at plainly patterned.
as today's posts have a card theme in honour of the pending PG live show, i wanted to post some snapshots from wilkinsons. i was in there this weekend looking at greetings cards, as i really like there modern styles. new arrivals included a circus themed collection.
a local clinton's card shop near me has had a makeover with new shopfitting more akin to a branch of papyrus than to the familiar old style clinton's. this floral design in a clinton's window display also caught my eye - i loved the graphic abrstracted blooms - which is being used to promote a 3 for 2 offer.
leeds based designer michelle gemmel has started her own greetings card label called me-me lou. new ranges include a candy coloured range called 'yummy' and there are cute characters like the fun squirrels above in the 'animalistic' collection.
