My local branch of Clintons Cards has had something of a makeover with new modern shop fittings (vertical perspex like Paperchase) and thanks to their new owners lots of American product - such as letterpress cards. Amazingly they are also stocking a range of stationery and accessories from top designer US Jonathan Adler. Here are some of my fave cards spotted in store and a few snaps of their Jonathan Adler display.
I have been to Liverpool on my summer break to find out all about The Beatles and whilst I was there I came across a great card shop called 'Utility'. There are several branches in the city and I was pleased to see they stocked some wonderful designers including Jessica Hogarth, Noi Publishing, and Love Faith & Hope. Well worth a browse if you are in the area or look online here.
Talking of Noi Publishing they have produced their new season catalogue for card retailers to start looking ahead to 2015. There is a brand new children's card range featuring a variety of animals on the front and animal prints on the back. There is also a poster (above) and temporary transfers available in the same range. For Spring next year there is some fab typography on Valentine's cards and painterly designs for Mother's Day.
P&P is back after it's summer break and we are lucky enough to get started on the new season with a sneak preview of an upcoming fabric collection from Robert Kaufman - Geo Pop Canvas by Emmie K. Featuring four versatile geometric prints there are three colour stories soon to be available : Sorbet, Pepper, and Lagoon, all printed on 100% cotton canvas which is ideal for bags, curtains, home decor, etc. The collection will be available for wholesale in late September and will be in stores in late October.
Talking of Robert Kaufman fabrics - they have a fab new collection from Suzy Ultman coming out this month. Called Kokeshi it features cute little Japanese Dolls mixed with birds, lanterns, and a circular geometric. Kokeshi will be available in two colour stories. And finally from Robert Kaufman I thought it was worth pointing out these beautiful designs from Zoe Ingram. Zoe was the winner of Lilla Rogers Global Talent Search in 2013 and one of the prizes for the contest was to create a fabric line for Robert Kaufman. Carried Away features three prints in two colourways Sunset and Sundance, and Zoe hopes they will be the first of many designs she creates for Kaufman.
The Indigo trade show 'Home Edition' opens tomorrow in Brussels and will specialise in designs for home decor such as curtains, wallpaper, and bedlinen. One of the studios from the UK taking part will be Jane Mosse Designs. Jane will be showcasing lots of great new prints from her design team in Hall 8 Stand 8A60.
