ampersand design studio made their debut at surtex this year and through the show were asked to create a fabric line for windham fabrics. called 'cream and sugar' their collection was launched at the houston quilt market last weekend and is will be in stores in spring 2013. the designs feature cups, spoons, tea bags, and sugarcubes all in funky cheerful colours.
suzy ultman's new collection for robert kaufman is a whimsical collection called 'handle with care' featuring a happy hot air balloon, smiling kites and air mail stamps and stickers. released this month you can find it online here at robert kaufman.
in honour of the quilt fair that took place last weekend today's posts all focus on fabrics. if you want to follow all the news from quilt fairs past and present the best place to go is the brilliant blog 'true up'. i'll look forward to seeing their reports on this autumn's show very soon. in the meantime this new collection called 'mecca for moderns' caught my eye. created in-house at alexander henry this fabulous mid century inspired collection features atomic style flowers, lollipop trees, skyscrapers, and sophisticated colour palettes. the collection will be available in november 2012 and can be viewed online here.
