today's surtex flyers are from the fabulous amy schimler who will be showcasing new designs at the group four design studio in booth 221-223. amy has an impressive client list including baby gap, pottery barn, oopsy daisy, and robert kaufman.
there have been lots of new arrivals at jonathan adler - and as you can imagine with good weather approaching they are vibrant, colourful and fun. products include picnic melamine in two new designs 'scales' and 'loop', and a striking greek inspired pottery collection 'santorini'. in bedding there is the hot pink and orange 'alexander' collection (above) and an exclusive 'love dove' art print by zoe bios creative.
i recently visited the 'david bowie is' exhibition at the V&A in london and picked up a few souvenirs in the bowie shop. i bought this 'ziggy stardust' poster by mike joyce (above) and then wanted to know a bit more about it him. i found out that mike has published a whole book of his reimagined concert posters called 'swissted'. the bowie show has certainly raised the bar in how an exhibtion can be presented with its fusion of art, graphics, music and fashion. i know im biased but it really is brilliant and includes a gigantic screen around three storeys high showing fab vintage concert footage. the show is in london until august and is then rumoured to be touring the world.

these are a few snapshots that managed to grab on our way through the V&A shop on route to the 'david bowie is' exhibition. at the V&A museum you will find a seperate well stocked book shop, a david bowie shop, and the main shop which is packed full of all kinds of great things relating to design, textiles, art and graphics.
'chicken coop' is a new collection created for the spring season by ashley thomas at debenhams. featuring quirky country chickens -in tweed waistcoats and bow ties it fuses illustrated motifs with contemporary stripes and hand drawn flowers. its exclusively available in debenhams stores or check the whole range online here.
salli sue swindell of studio sss has been very busy creating lots of new work, some of which i am lucky enough to be able to post here. salli is based in ohio and also designs with her brother nate padavick who is based in berlin, germany. their clients have included pottery barn and madison park greetings and they have a website for posting patterns with their contact details online here.
