and finally today a few designs spotted in tesco just give you a flavour of what kind of designs they are currently stocking.
rachel bennett is a textile designer based in north west of england. after graduating in 2012 from the university of huddersfield with a high 2:1 in textile design for fashion and interiors, rachel has become a freelance designer as she loves the freedom this offers. with a penchant for quirky prints and patterns, rachel applies her designs to home and gift merchandise. her first collection was launched in august 2012 initially with a set of greetings cards, to then expand into a vast range including pocket mirrors, tote bags and notebooks. her most recent collection, 'fossils', has recently been launched at the british trade craft fair in harrogate. All products are designed by Rachel and printed in the United Kingdom. she enjoys experimenting with textures and print processes before taking them into CAD in order to create complex and unusual prints, only achievable through digital print.
xenia taler has created a new range of cards featuring her unique tile designs. each image is hand painted and fired in a kiln, and the unique soft texture is the result of the transparency and slight pooling of the glaze. xenia became well known for her tile designs but producing them commercially proved tricky because of their painstaking production method. you can find xenia's environmentally friendly cards online here.
some lovely new decorative floral designs have been added to the munch wooden wall art collection. there are three designs in the range, crocus, bush and tulips available in different colour options. the wood designs are hand-cut and handpainted on scandinavian pine and have a small hole at the back to allow them to be hung on the wall. munch are also donating 10% of each one sold to the RSPB.
man vs george DESIGN is a business based in milwaukee and run by husband and wife team tilney and ryan fitzpatrick. ryan creates the designs and tilney the words on a series of cards and art prints. the duo have just exhibited for the second time at the national stationery show in new york where they launched new designs and were finalists in the best new product award. find more from man vs george online here.
