I have been have been browsing for fabrics recently and found all these lovely colourful designs in the 'whats new' section at online store fabric rehab. my favourite was this retro kitchen print (above & below) from Japanese company cosmo textile. and who couldn't admire these foxes from the in-house team at timeless treasures.
did you know that ikea are opening a series of in store stationery boutiques. known as 'the paper shop' they focus on stationery, cards, wrap, tape and paper decorations. these specially designed departments are being rolled out in their branches in Britain and Sweden and will hopefully follow worldwide. the colourful merchandising can be seen in these store snaps below from the retail design blog and you can see some of the available product lines at ikea online.
and whilst I am on the subject of ikea and have been researching their new paper shop boutiques I couldn't resist having a look at their textiles and other prints.i especially loved this limited edition 'fjallfly' fabric by tina blacman (available on etsy). other recent designs include the green and yellow prints of their 'Stockholm' 2013 collection.
designer jennie whitham is currently running a kickstarter project to help raise the funds for a collection of 2014 surface pattern calendars. jennie's aim is to raise £750 to print a minimum qty of 50 of each Calendar, a Wall Planner (A2 scale), A4 basic calendar, Slimline wall calendar and an A3 family planner. Any monies above £750 will increase the quantity of the stock. anyone who pledges an amount over £5 (Min pledge £1) will receive a calendar as a thank you. the target deadline for jennie's project is just a few days away on Thursday 1st august. click here for more details.
this cute bedlinen was snapped in john lewis recently and features cats, dogs, and bunnies in amongst the fruit trees. they also had some fabulous 'knitted' wrapping paper featuring flowers and wrapping designs ideal for children's gifts.
