Vicky Yorke is very excited to be exhibiting for the first time this year via her agents, Jewel Branding and Licensing - booth 417. Vicky creates hand drawn illustration, surface pattern design and typography from her home studio in the Worcestershire countryside. She is obsessed with colour and pattern and has been applying this passion to create beautiful products for over a decade. She is often inspired by the nature that surrounds her home and her modern designs are bright and vibrant reflecting her sense of fun and whimsy. Vicky also has cultural influences from around the world in her work referencing Scandinavian, European, African and Aboriginal art to create a uniquely blended look. Today we have some more exhibitors at the upcoming Blue Print show in New York. One of those attending is Milk & Honey, a studio set up by Lisa Barlow (who will be represented for the first time by Cinnamon Joe). In this post we have a sneak preview of some of the fabulous designs they'll be showing next month.

Pomelo & Pomelo will be showcasing loads of new art perfect for home decor, paper and textile markets at Blue Print. Not only will clients find Abby Zweiful bright and punchy portfolio but they will also be showcasing the art of Sarah Watson as well. Kirstie Allsopp has released a new range of stationery called 'Watercolour'. Kirstie is well known on British television for her home and crafting shows and is also cousin to the legendary Cath Kidston. The aim of the new collection was to create something 'stunningly bright yet highly sophisticated'. Kirstie loves bright colours and traditional techniques but wanted to spice them up to make these designs modern and contemporary. Products in the Watercolour range include a foldaway bag, tablet and phone cases, recipe folder, notebooks, home office storage, pens and gift tags. In stores now and some items are available at Amazon.
We are very close now to the New York trade shows and taking place just before Surtex will be Blue Print. You may remember the Blue Print team organised a competition back in January (which we posted here) to find a new Young Designer who would win a free space at the show. Entrants had to submit their version of a booth design and they received so many talented submissions it was hard to choose. But they eventually chose two winners : Sandra Bowers and Pippa Shaw. These two talented designers had professional, on-trend designs and the team are excited to welcome them to the Blue Print family. The New York show will run for 5 days and will showcase the talents of 36 design studios from around the world. If you are visiting NYC then you can register for free here.
