tate enterprises ltd has commissioned the artist and illustrator mark hearld to design a limited ddition lithographic print and an accompanying range of products to be sold exclusively at tate britain and tate online.the range was commissioned to celebrate the wealth of creative talent in the UK and to help promote and support british manufacturing and the specialist skills that go with it. the product range consists of beautiful ceramics, a greetings card set, a pigeon post airmail inspired letter, printed tote bag, fabric-covered notebooks with embossing and a cushion cover. all of these products are made in the UK to a high standard and real attention to detail.

the book also comes with a cd featuring all the designs in the book as jpegs which you can use for desktop wallpapers, plus 50 copyright designs, also jpegs, to play with.
ive been keeping an eye on the textile company st.judes ever since i discovered angie lewin's work there a few years ago. new designs added since we last looked include above and below kensal rising by old town and dove flight by mark herald.
also, exciting news from st.judes - ive heard they are going to be working with alice stevenson (who we loved here) and who created this lovely tree covered book jacket design. fingers crossed.

these two fabulous brand new angie lewin prints will be part of the 'st judes in the city' exhibition, which sees the norfolk based gallery bring their works to london. featuring printmaking, collage, fabric and illustration by several artists including alice stevenson, the show will run from now until feb 12th 2009 at the bankside gallery which is located right next to the tate modern. 
whilst researching the work of sanna annukka (keane illustrator) for a moodboard, i somehow stumbled across the work of alice stevenson.(they were possibly on the same course together at brighton uni). i cant seem to resist anything that features birds these days, and the design below is a favourite because it has a really interesting repeat. lovely stuff.
