kings road shopping

if you're coming to london on research or shopping trips, then a good place to visit is the kings road in chelsea. this is home of top UK british fabric company designers guild. there is a large homestore where you'll find all the beautiful bedlinen, cushions, tableware and accessories, and almost next door on the corner is the showroom. in here you'll find all the fabrics, wallpapers and paints. the images above are from their website and below are those i took at the weekend (it was very sunny hence a few window reflection problems).

I love the two bottom images. The one on the left reminds me of some bed sheets I had back when I was a kid in the 70s. I've been thinking of making some doll quilts out of vintage or vintage reproduction fabrics. Do you have any good online sources for this kind of fabric? I'm getting bored with repodepot.com....

The first place I go whenever I get a chance to visit London. Love your blog. Thanks for doing it.

From the wilds of western Massachusetts,

Enjoyable blog, have bookmarked it and will be sure to visit regularly! Some really nice findings - you have good design taste! Im a graphic designer but have always had a deep passion for all product and interior design, mainly contemporary and retro styles, and especially loving the beautiful Japanese patterns and textiles. Came across your site through a Home & Gardens Mag link from Design*Sponge - a true inspiration even tho overseas. But its great to finally find a promising uk-based design blog like yours. Well done!
