today im looking at a book which you might want to consider adding to your collection. called 'the complete pattern library' by keith hagan, this book basically consists of patterns based on historical design that have been organised and re-coloured to demonstrate different looks. the publishers say the book has two uses, for home craft projects and to help readers learn the basics of pattern design. the cd has the patterns in fully editable vector files in eps and tiff, but as usual with these type of books the designs cannot be used on items that will be sold. click here to see the book on amazon UK or USA, or if you're after other pattern design books see my amazon shop UK or USA for more ideas.

oh man, i love it.
Gorgeous patterns!
Well, would you look at this! I just bought a copy of Hagan's book at The Met yesterday morning, so it really caught my eye as I was browsing your blog. Nice to see it among all your fabulous finds!
This is great! Do you know the book:
http://www.amazon.com/Textile-Designs-European-American-Organized/dp/0810938537
They have CD roms through "the design library" where you can use some of the designs and get permission for others (for a fee, I'm sure). Anyway, great book. The CD roms are expensive though, like $200+
Looks like the link got cut off - just search on Amazon for Textile Designs by Susan Meller. You may already know of this though!!
