STATIONERY - penguin zakka
i love to browse japanese websites and see what goodies i can find, and of course as i dont speak japanese i cant read any of the text. but that doesnt matter because as they say a picture speaks a thousand words. but with this lovely new collection at penguin zakka i would've liked to have found out more. ive searched in vain to find any western text on them to find out who the designer is, but with no luck. still it makes for beautiful eye candy !

wow ! great find ! they are absolutely gorgeous ! its says " diario on the first image " which means Personal Diary in Italian so maybe its from an Italian designer :)

Paper cutwork looks set to be a big trend this winter! Paperchase have some lovely intricate Christmas cards (already!) on display. I want one of these calenders!!!

You can use a page translator site to read what they have to say. I used the Google version (http://www.google.com/language_tools).
Since our languages don't translate all that well the English is butchered, but you will get the general idea.
I would love to have these calendars or the note books! I went to their website but I don't speak japanese.
yes, i think as all of you agree, these are beautiful and love to know where to purchase them. i will keep checking the comments to see if anyone has found more information and where to buy them.

Hi. Love this stationary! If you put the name in google you get the option translate this page on the right. I did that and got english, the site is amazing even if some of the text makes no sense in english! Lovely blog!

I bought the yellow one for my sister in law a couple of weeks ago! They are lovely and are quite cheap, about US$10.00 for the little diaries.
I'm lucky since I live in Osaka I can buy this stuff but I rely on Print & Pattern to tell me what is cool.
I bought this calendar 2 years ago in Tokyo (at the wonderful Loft store, which is a stationery paradise). A few of the colours and designs have changed for 2008 but it's basically the same as 2006. I still have it up on my wall even though it's out of date because it's soooooo beautiful. Papercutting seems to be everywhere right now but back in 2005 I'd never seen anything like it...
But anyway....
Mine says " Produced by Gallery A.P.J. graphic station. phone 03-39043561" on the bottom of the front page.
Perhaps a Sherlock out there can work out what it means??
Answering my own question.... Graphic Station is a line made by A.P.J, which stands for Art Prints Japan. It's officially called the Papercuts Storytelling Wall Calendar. The company doesn't seem to distribute or ship internationally so someone in Japan will have to buy it. :(
I received a lovely Tree Story calendar as a gift (it was purchased in Australia) and it is truely beautiful. The calendar has a wooden tree trunk in the middle that goes through to each page. The calendar came with a sheet of stickers so I can decorate the wooden tree trunk according to the seasonal changes. There are leaves, fruit, animals, snow flakes and christmas stickers! It is the morst gorgeous thing I have ever seen and am so excited to get stickering....
When and where can I find more of these sweet things is the BIG Question? Appasrently the calendar was a one of a kind product to the store where it was purchased.. eek!
