designer/artist ray fenwick recently spent a week in residency at the pantry press in toronto. like all the projects the wrapping paper above was drawn and printed within the week, ray doing the illustration and julie & christian doing the printing. you can really see the handmade appeal of the coasters below, or as ray likes to call it 'the realness'. the week ended with a reception before ray returned to his home town of halifax, nova scotia. the good news is that now we can get our hands on some of cards, prints, gift wrap and coasters from that week at the pantry press in their new etsy shop. this is your chance to get hold of some 'real' art. you can read all about the week and see photos of ray at work on the pantry press blog here.

i would say if you invest in these you're not just buying some cards - you're getting a piece of art.
and it could be collectable in years to come :)
