i love the patterned covers on these zines from obsessive consumption. what did you buy today ? is the work of kate bingaman-burt who sells the zine here on etsy. obsessive consumption started in 2002 when kate decided to photograph all of her purchases and in turn create a brand out of the process to package and promote. she is currently hand drawing all of her credit card statements until they are paid off, drawing something she purchases each day and continuing to make piles of work (zines, pillows, buttons,) that all fits into the brand she's built which 'mocks her own relationship with her purchases'. some of you may have seen kate's work in the brilliant 'hand job' book. the pictures above are from kate's show at rare device in san francisco (pics by lisa congdon). below are all the lovely cover patterns which look great altogether.
