dee beale is a designer/ illustrator based in the peak district, in the uk. she worked as a graphic designer in manchester for over 10 years and is now freelance and focusing more on the illustration side of her career. the owl design at the top of the post is her winning entry in the 'tigerprint' mothers day competition. dee spotted the competition here on print and pattern and thought it would be a good starting point for her new direction (and obviously was delighted to actually win!). dee's card will now be published by marks and spencer. if you'd like to contact dee regarding commisions you can get in touch with her via her excellent new blog here. to find out more about tigerprint competitions see the next post.
