DESIGNER - sally elford

british designer sally elford has been working as an illustrator for the last five years, and has recently been working on lots of pattern design. sally works from her home studio in brighton and takes her inspiration from nature, birds feature a lot in her work. she also has a love of mid century design so likes to incorporate textures into some designs – to "add a bit more interest to flat vectors and give a ‘printed’ feel". you can view sally's beautiful portfolio of patterns here at her website. she is also one of the artists who sells their prints at boxbird.

The texture effect is fantastic. It does add dimension to flat vector graphics.

Hi Bowie

Love your blog, its just so insiring to see all the fanatastic work that's around, especially as we've moved away from London to a very rural part of the world. Love all the 'Keep Calm...' stuff too, been meaning to make a 'Keep Calm and have a Cuppa' tea cosy for ages! Good work, that girl...
