TOP DRAWER 2010 - marimekko

today im looking at some of the designers and companies exhibiting at london's 'top drawer' exhibition which has been on at earls court this week. the taking of photos at the show is not allowed but i have to admit these snaeky snaps of marimekko who had a stand right at the front of the show. as soon as visitors came in the door they werestruck by this stunning fabric (above) by maija louekari called siirtolapuutarha. as seen here at marimekko's site or for maija's own website visit here.
some of maija louekari's previous prints for marimekko in 2008... and a couple of pieces from maija louekari's portfolio on her own website here.

I'm in love with Maija !
I have a shop in France, mainly dedicated to Marimekko, and dispite the fact it's almost completely unknown here, people is very interested in this completely new esthetic.
It's long term work, but it's working.
