the morateur gallery in los angeles holds a rare collection of beautiful french gouaches which are for sale for use in the design industry. these authentic designs were originally made for a fabric and wallpaper company in france called 'essef decors muraux' which partnered with various famous french artists to create unique and original creations. about 3 years ago the factory went out of business and during the auction sale about 60% out of the 6,000 designs were acquired by museums. most of the works for sale are from the turn of the century, the 1920's and 30's and a few from the 1940's to 70's. see more gorgeous vintage designs online here.

Fabulous!
Great graphics! Thanks for sharing!
Essef was a lifestyle institution. This is yet another piece of France's living history now sadly relegated to museums and auctions, thankfully brought to our appreciation and viewing pleasure by discerning individuals like yourself.
Ah I love these they are classic :)
