laura barnes is a recent graduate from nottingham trent university, with a first class BA honours in decorative arts, specialising in printed textiles and illustration. since graduating, laura was chosen to be part of texprint 2012 and exhibited at indigo in paris. laura loves drawing and colour, which are both important elements in her work. she draws everything by hand using either gouache or watercolour and fineliners. laura then uses hand screen print, digital and embroidery techniques. for her degree show laura created a unique range of vibrant printed fabrics; with an eclectic mix of arabic, oriental and metropolitan sources, you can view a selection of her work online here.
