Jackie Tahara is a surface pattern designer and illustrator from Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. Jackie founded UnBlink Studio in 2015, and has been studiously building her pattern design portfolio, participating in the design community as much as she can, and gaining knowledge about the business of licensing and selling her designs for the textiles, housewares, fashion, childrens and gift markets. She has also won several design competitions. Jackie is very excited to announce that she will be showing new surface pattern designs with Nerida Hansen Print & Textiles at Surtex NYC in May 2018! Her colourful pattern collections often combine a lush and organic aesthetic with clean, geometric patterns. She loves retro design and Scandinavian motifs, as well as the intricate patterns of William Morris and Josef Frank. The textile and craft traditions she sees on her travels such as Indian silk saris and Mexican folk art also inspire her designs. Jackie is available for freelancing and collaborations and is always looking for new opportunities. Her big goal is to license her repeat patterns and placement prints widely and Jackie invites you to check out her website here.
